Western Taikai — How to Register

For WAKR members invited to the Western Taikai.

You've been sent a personal link to register your interest in the Western Taikai. This page explains how to fill it in. It only takes a minute, and you can come back and change your answers any time before the cut-off.

Registering

1. Open your personal link from the email we sent you. You don't need to log in — the link is just for you.
2. Tick I'm attending the Taikai & AGM.
3. Choose the competitions you'd like to enter:
   • Kendo Team Shiai (4-minute matches)
   • Kendo Team Kata (kata 1–3)
   • Iaido Team
   • Jodo Team
4. For each art you pick, confirm your club. Your grade is already on file, so you don't need to enter it.
5. If you'd like to help on the day, tick available to volunteer.
6. Click Save my registration. That's it — you can revisit the same link to change anything before the cut-off.

Good to know

• Age: Kendo Shiai (matches) is open to members aged 16 and over.
• Free this year — there's nothing to pay.
• Teams: you're registering your interest. Your club leaders form the actual teams afterwards from everyone who registered, and can team up with smaller clubs to make up numbers.
• Your details: we only use your email to send you this link — it isn't shown to other members.

• Didn't get a link, or the link won't open → contact the WAKR secretary.
• Questions about your club's team → talk to your club leader / Sensei.
